Jack Paley, Founder
Aspen Crunch was founded in 2011 by Jack Paley and his father, who saw a need for more healthy snack options in the marketplace. So, they launched Aspen Crunch with a mission to enhance lives through nutrition by providing their community with delicious dehydrated snacks filled with healthy organic ingredients. They also knew that they wanted their idea to serve as a platform for teaching young entrepreneurial-spirited students about launching and running a startup. Thus, a partnership between Aspen Crunch and Aspen High School was formed. Each year, Aspen Crunch’s founders work with high school student interns and teach them startup skills like project management, food product development, company operations, and building lasting relationships with farmer's market customers.
Luke Larson and Jack Halferty, both entering their senior year at Aspen High in the fall, have been with Aspen Crunch for just over a year now. They’ve learned the ins and outs of the business, and you can find them every Saturday at our booth at the Aspen Farmer’s Market, welcoming customers, passing out samples, and telling the story behind the ingredients in Aspen Crunch products. Next summer they will help transition a new set of high school students who will begin as our interns, and thus the cycle repeats, sharing new knowledge with new students!
