What Are Enzymes In Food?
Enzymes are what our bodies naturally use to digest foods.
Enzymes are biological catalysts that make all life possible. Enzymes are what our bodies naturally use to digest foods. There are two ways our digestive system receives the enzymes we need: The first is that enzymes are naturally in the food we eat. Secondly enzymes are naturally produced by our digestive system.
Now It Gets Interesting... researchers have discovered that cooking or processing food over 118 degrees Fahrenheit kills virtually all digestive enzymes that are natural i.e. Our food source.
Food swallowed, moving into the upper portion of our stomach, will stay for about 45-60 minutes to predigest. This process will only happen if we are eating foods containing live enzymes. Our bodies do not supply any enzymes at this stage of digestion.
Did You Know: as we age, our bodies ability to produce enzymes slowly diminishes. Eating enzyme-dead foods place a burden on our pancreas and other organs, which overwork them and eventually exhausts the organs.
Many people gradually impair pancreas and progressively lose the ability to digest their food after a lifetime of ingesting processed foods.
The good news is: we can avoid this!
