Takeaway One

Foods contain nutrients that are from proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber, water, and other substances. Nutrients are the necessary materials (in the form of food) to support life.

Nutrition is the sum total of the process involved in the taking in and the utilization of food substances by which growth, repair, and maintenance of the body are accomplished.

We can choose what we eat. Some foods are better than others. Some foods have the power to heal and some foods contribute to disease. Our knowledge of foods has changed significantly over the last 10 years. Knowledge is powerful, so let’s understand food, and let’s be proactive!

Takeaway Two

Taking supplements and medicine is like washing dishes in a sink of dirty water. Ever when you put in soap, you still can’t get the dishes clean.

A new title has evolved over the year called, “Nutritarian”. A Nutritarian is a person who strives for more micro nutrients per calorie in their diet.

Manufacturers of processed foods and the media do not always have our interests at heart.
If you believe that eating healthy can make a big impact on the way you feel, consider buying yourself an Aspen Crunch snack.
