Looking for a cozy drink on a cold winter day?
Serves 6 | Prep 10 Min
When we came up with a green tea, ginger apple cider recipe to fulfill your deepest winter yearnings for warmth, maple, and cinnamon.
Ingredients
- 2 Pounds of Local Granny Smith Apples
- 1/4 of an Orange Peel
- 1 Inch Slice or Ginger Root
- 2 Tablespoons of Maple Syrup
- 1 Tablespoon Matcha Green Tea
- 1/4 Teaspoons Cardamom
- 1/2 Teaspoons Ginger Powder
- 3/4 Teaspoons Cinnamon
Instructions
Begin by chopping the Granny Smith apples to 1/8 inch slices. Next, grate the ginger root very finely on top of the sliced Granny Smith apples. After grating the ginger root, finely mince the orange peel. Toss the Granny Smith apples, grated ginger root, and minced orange peel into a large mixing bow. Pour all of the remaining ingredients on top. Mix thoroughly, and dehydrate at 118°F (~12 hours). To test if done pull a piece out of the dehydrator, let sit for 5 minutes to cool down, and then try it out. If the end result is slightly crunchy, your recipe is dehydrated!
For rehydration pour the dehydrated apple cider mix into 15 or more cups of water. Bring the water to a simmer and leave for 5 minutes. Let cool slightly, strain, and serve.
Yields 5+ liters when rehydrated
