1. Hike The American Lake Trail
One of the best and easiest ways to get active this fall is to lace up a pair of hiking boots, grab a water bottle and maybe some Aspen Crunch snacks, and hit one of the many hiking trails Aspen has to offer. This time of year the trees are just turning, and American Lake trail is the perfect place to take it all in. The beginning of the hike switchbacks through a grove of golden aspen trees and is nicely shaded throughout, with stunning views of rolling hills, waterfalls, the Rockies and American Lake as the grand finale. The hike is 6-miles out and back and is rated as difficult, so definitely bring plenty of water. Pups are welcome too, as long as they're on leash!
